Private security agency in India has been the helping hands of the public and government sector for a long time. As security agencies undergo digital transformation, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Vijay Kumar Singh stated that by using drones and CCTV, private security guards can assist government agencies in matters such as traffic management, pollution monitoring, and crowd management.
There has been a gradual development in the security industry in India and therefore there are various schemes and innovations being implemented in the security industry to provide the people with better protection and service.
Just after Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a government web portal to help private security agencies in India get the license this September and also praised Private Security Guards for doing great service to the nation.
At the ‘Security Leadership Summit’ organised by Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI), top public and private sector leaders gathered to discuss the evolution of technology in the security industry and implementation of private security guards to provide better service to the people.
He further said “Today, governments do not have enough resources and manpower to meet daily requirements of the general public. Here private security agencies can play a major role, but they need to train their personnel in modern and upcoming technologies to gain the trust of government agencies who can delegate them routine works like traffic management, pollution monitoring, crowd management, and cybersecurity,”
Private security agencies have an enormous opportunity to reinvent themselves and eventually prepare for future threats, he added.
He also suggested that the Indian private security industry needs to tap foreign markets in particular where there is a shortage of manpower like Europe and Gulf nations.
Reacting to this notification, CAPSI Chairman Kunwar Vikram Singh said: “private security agencies are ready to help the government in carrying out day-to-day work needed to make life easier and safer for people”.
