Private security guards perform a lot of distinct roles, but his main responsibility is crime prevention. A security guard’s presence on the premises often acts as a deterrent to potential lawbreakers. Private security guards are present in offices, in a building, factories, banks and apartments and performing their duties.
In an event, Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar highlighted the importance of the private security guards in India and appreciated the work and also conveyed various messages to the security guard and the security guard company in India. In his speech, he also mentioned that the private security company is one of the top five jobs providing sector helping in the growth of the economy.
Union Minister Gangwar said that “private security guards are doing a great service to the nation as approximately 50 lakh such security guards are safeguarding the premises like factories, Banks, Apartments, etc.”
Mr Gangwar said during his speech at FICCI’s Private Security Conclave that the Private Security Industry is among one of the five topmost employment generating sectors in the country.
He also mentioned the importance of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan Dhan (PMSYM) and also appealed all the employers of security agencies in India to motivate security guards to take the benefits of this scheme. This scheme aims to bring all the workers under the cover of social security, he added that a monthly contribution of Rs 55 to Rs 200 from the salary can get the security guard benefit of pension after attaining the age of 60 and informed that the central government gave 50 crore unorganized industry employees the right to minimum wages and the same applies to security guards.
